Our Mission
Ohata Resource Canada Inc. is committed to building a reuse and recycling ecosystem where valuable IT equipment and electronic resources are responsibly recovered and given a second life.
Guided by the spirit of our Japanese parent company’s philosophy — “1kgからはじめるリサイクル” (Recycling that starts from just 1 kg) — we welcome everything from a single device to larger corporate IT loads.
Our mission is simple: to make recycling accessible, transparent and sustainable for everyone.
Our Story
Ohata Shoji Inc. was founded in Osaka, Japan in 1998. From the very beginning, the company has focused on electronics recycling, materials recovery and the handling of IT equipment and electronic boards.
As global demand for IT asset recycling and electronic board processing grew, the company expanded its activities beyond Japan. In 2025, Ohata Resource Canada Inc. was established in Delta, British Columbia, to bring our expertise to the North American market.
Starting from a compact yet highly functional yard on Annacis Island, we began building a service that connects:
- local businesses disposing of IT equipment,
- individuals selling or recycling PCs and components,
- international markets seeking high-quality refurbished electronics.
Our Canadian branch inherits the same core values as our headquarters: fairness, accuracy, safety and environmental responsibility.

Our Richmond facility supports purchasing, sorting, handling, reuse, refurbishment, and electronics recycling operations across the Metro Vancouver area.
This facility allows us to receive IT equipment, PCs, components, electronic scrap, and related materials in a way that supports both reuse and responsible resource recovery.
